I got a very strange message from a Paypal artist who I commissioned for Twitch emotes. They claim the Paypal account they had me pay is actually owned by a family member, and they cannot access their money now. The seller wants me to open a dispute, indicate the item wasn't received (but I did get my emotes), and once Paypal refunds the payment(s) I'm supposed to pay a different account. Now, this is already screaming scam to me, but I can't find any info on a scam related to this. Has anyone heard of it before? Here is te exact message I received via a Twitter DM: > I’m writing this to let you know that my previous PayPal account isn’t link to me anymore. I was using my cousin PayPal and he is not giving my money since 3 month and making lame excuse and trying to scam me and now he deny to giving me my money, So all my commission money go wasted, I’m in real trouble from past 3 months. Can you do me a favour & file a case on the money you put? Then Pay the money at my new PayPal, I would be really thankful to you. After filing a case, You’ll be getting your money within 15 days then you can pay me back at my new PayPal Also put a reason on a case that I didn’t receive the item It just seems like the easiest way to get a refund back. Don't forget to put the reason that you didn't receive the item since it's the easiest way to get your money back
