They're getting their cut already, and dropping support for secure cards won't help get web sites to use them more, quite the opposite: it's going to cut my use of paypal substantially, and it's going to have collateral damage to my main credit union as well: neither of them offer virtual cards, so I'll have to go find one that does. I do not have a browser plugin installed. I get to it through the "Paypal Plugin" link in "My account tools" on the right side of the web page when I login. There, on the left, below "plugin home" is "Secure Cards" and you manage them in the web page, not an installed plugin that tries to automate some of the work. So, while it says "paypal plugin", it's not really the plugin that puts the paypal "P" in your toolbar, and I'm hoping that that's what they're dropping support for. ... View more

You don't have to use the browser plugin, I don't --- just go to the "paypal plugins" link on the right of the home page after logging in and then "secure cards". I think you do already have to have the debit card though. I don't know if it's just the browser plugin or the whole secure card system going away --- I'll be really torqued if the latter, as I use it frequently. ... View more
