These same scammers are always opening new companies, to stay ahead of the customers who discover what they're up to. In the long run, they are hurting legitimate business in their country, with their nefarious scheme. Those of us who've learned from it no longer buy from new companies - we do searches on them, and if they have negative reviews, or if they've only been in business for a month or two, we walk away without ordering. See the kainuode thread for more info on this type of scam. In the United States, we are not required to pay for or return unsolicited merchandise. I sent a photo of the cheap watch I received, with the packing materials, showing the USPS tracking number "seller" used to claim they had sent the computer lap desk I had ordered. After a few days, PayPal refunded all my money. I notified the scammer that I will return the watch to them when I receive a prepaid mailing label from them. This has happened to many people. The scammers never even had the items they offer for sale, just photos taken from someone else's site. Going forward, the best thing is to do a search on a seller before you buy. If the business is new, or has any complaints, run away. Don't let them trick you by spoofing a legitimate business with a similar name, either. ... View more

I got my money refunded by PayPal after sending them a photo of the watch with its packing materials, showing the delivery confirmation number the scammers claimed belonged to the lapdesk I ordered. I ordered a lap desk from a Facebook ad and eventually received a cheap watch. I got my money back from PayPal after providing all the evidence I had. They never ship what we bought, because they don't have it. They just use photos of merchandise taken from others' websites. I believe there are multiple threads here dealing with the same scam. I've learned to do a search on any business I'm tempted to order from. If it's a new company, a website that's only a few months old, beware. Don't assume they're legit just because they use well-known entities like PayPal and Facebook. PayPal appears to be a victim as well. I don't know if PayPal got my money back from the criminals or just paid me out of their profits. The scammers may even be tricking others into shipping stuff for them. Look up thread Kainuode on this forum, and read all the posts. Kainuode is one of the names these scammers have used, with a switcheroo involving cheap items sent to get tracking numbers making it look like they sent what we ordered. Save all evidence, labels, merchandise, emails, etc. and send copies to PayPal. Look up the thread in this forum on "kainuode", read all the posts, and learn how others have gotten their money back. Scammers are advertising products they don't have and sending cheap substitute items in order to get tracking numbers with delivery confirmations. If you accept a partial reimbursement the scammers still profit. These creeps keep coming back with new accounts under different names, and use different addresses to perpetuate their insidious fraud. Do a search of any business you're thinking of ordering from. Dear Subee30 and all others, Read all the posts in this thread. Be sure you don't accidentally click any where that acknowledges receipt of what you ordered. Send your proof of what you received, including packaging showing the tracking number for the watch (or toothbrush or whatever). Escalate your dispute with PayPal, and don't settle for less than a full refund. I got my money back, and I'm holding on to the watch so I can send it back to the scammers when I receive a prepaid shipping label from them. (Odds of that happening are slim.)
