Dear Subee30 and all others, Read all the posts in this thread. Be sure you don't accidentally click any where that acknowledges receipt of what you ordered. Send your proof of what you received, including packaging showing the tracking number for the watch (or toothbrush or whatever). Escalate your dispute with PayPal, and don't settle for less than a full refund. I got my money back, and I'm holding on to the watch so I can send it back to the scammers when I receive a prepaid shipping label from them. (Odds of that happening are slim.) In the US we are not required to return or pay for unsolicited merchandise. I am holding on to the watch and packaging as evidence, but will return it if I receive a prepaid shipping label. PayPal is refunding my money 100% and I have reported this to the United States Postal Inspection Service, since a US address was used for shipping the watch. Everyone on the thread   I plan to report this Kainuode scam to the US Postal Inspector. I made my order on January 23, then emailed the "seller" on February 28, and received the cheap wristwatch on March 9, mailed from California to my address in Utah. I made no connection between the watch and the lapdesk I had ordered. "Seller" then sent a message that my package had been delivered on March 9, and I figured it out. I included a list of rules from the Federal Trade Commission website in my extensive evidence I prepared and sent to PayPal, who then informed me I get a full refund. I hope the scammer isn't involving any innocent victims in this scheme, tricking 3rd parties into shipping the cheap substitute. I sent a photo of the shipping package and label and cheap watch, clearly showing the tracking number, proving that the seller's tracking number was fraudulent. I just received notification that PayPal is refunding my complete payment. If "seller" wants the watch back, I'll send it to them as soon as they send me a prepaid shipping label. ... View more

I just heard from PayPal. They are giving me a full refund. I sent them all the information I had, including information on the number of people reporting fraud in this discussion. I hope that PayPal and other businesses facilitating payments are able to identify and block scammers. If customers like us report our experiences in detail I believe that helps. I don't know whether PayPal is bearing the cost of the scam in my behalf or if they are able to recover the funds from the criminals. ... View more

It's possible they don't ship the cheap substitute merchandise until after you have contacted them about not receiving anything. That way, if nobody complains, the scammers' profit is 100% of what you paid.    Before ordering anything online, look up the seller. If it's a company that's been in business for years, and they have zero complaints, it's probably above board. If their address is new, beware. If the company is 2 months old and they have multiple complaints, DO NOT attempt to deal with them. I knew somebody, somewhere was actually selling the computer lap desks, and found them at Office Depot/Office Max, then discovered them cheaper on Amazon. (Even cheaper than the scam price for those we never received.) I'll see if Amazon does better than PayPal on this. I haven't seen any red flags yet. ... View more

After I escalated my case against Kainuode with PayPal, PayPal told me I could settle it with a $13 refund. I paid $32.98 for a lap desk that never arrived, and received a cheap watch that I never ordered, and which I never connected with kainuode until they supplied a tracking number showing deliver. I believe kainuode only shipped the watch after my first query by email. I sent every document I could find to PayPal after refusing their offer. Accepting that offer would be paying $19.98 for a watch I didn't order - unsolicited merchandise does not legally have to be returned or paid for. I'll return the watch if I receive a prepaid shipping lable from Kainuode. I'll certainly never use that ugly thing. Look out for these guys. They keep coming up with new names of companies, and shutting down when the scam makes it too difficult to continue with each name. I hope that all the media platforms and payment businesses figure out how to prevent themselves from enabling crooks like this to continue. If buying merchandise online gets more difficult and complicated, this is probably why. If you are tempted to buy from any company, look up their name. I suspect they only shipped the cheap watch after I made inquiry about the expected lap desk. Not sure, though. The watch was shipped from California, they asked me to send it back to China. That makes no sense. They told me their shipper "made a mistake". Then I find out they sent the wrong item to everybody. Just make sure you save all the evidence - copies of original order, all email communication, photos of junk merchandise received and shipping label used. And do it before the 6 month deadline. ... View more

This describes my issue with this company very accurately. i ordered a lapdesk, and received a cheap wristwatch. I thought the watch was unsolicited merchandise; I didn't recognize it as coming from the seller of the lapdesk. When they responded to my emails, seller told me my item had been delivered. I checked the tracking information (USPS) and I was definitely home at the time. Then I remembered the watch, which I had kept, and found that the tracking info matched. Of course a package big enough to contain a lap desk would hold at least 20 wristwatches, so if I hadn't emailed seller, I would never have suspected a connection. Seller wrote that their shipper had made a mistake, and would I please check with the post office on the cost of return shipping, and they would make it right. I told them I would return the watch if they sent me a prepaid shipping label. Then I did a search and discovered all these complaints (80 so far) against kainuode. One customer wrote that she had ordered two lap desks (exact same price I paid) and received two cheap watches. Shipper error? I don't think so. Not only do I not want to ever deal with this company again, I don't want to deal with any business in China. I immediately escalated my case with paypal, sending photos of the watch I received and its packaging, and some of the correspondence between me and seller. I hope everyone here will document details carefully - copies of emails, shipping labels, photos of merchandise, etc. so that Paypal will be able to take action. Hopefully they will be able to block seller immediately (should have happened before I ever tried to buy anything from them), but in their defense, Paypal does need solid evidence to back up their corrective actions.  ...
