Hello I am pretty upset with PayPal. I had my account hacked most likely from their latest data breaches. So PayPal is now asking for information that they have never asked for in the past. I followed the steps and verified my ID by a text to my phone number and uploaded a copy of my credit card statement among other things. So after this my account was unlocked it got locked again a week later asking for the same information. So I did the information again change my password again. I called PayPal and spoke to a nice woman who said that she would make a note on the account if it happens again but said it was a system error. So account unlocked for three days and locked again. I called and told the person on the phone that she had put a note in my account and asked to unlocked it. The person was rude wouldn't listen to reason and wanted me to change my password again why on the phone. I told him I'm not going to keep thinking of elaborate new passwords every time this happens and to connect me with a supervisor. He proceeded to read from his script and wouldn't connect me with someone who could understand reason. So I said okay on the message center it wants my drivers license and you want a password change so which is it? Guy got incredibly rude so finally got put on indefinite hold for a supervisor. I said okay i will try the message center again. They want my ID okay so I write them a note and explain " hey I submitted my ID but I blurred the drivers license number out because I don't want this information lost in the next hack " So message center says hello we got this but you erased information on your license and we can't take it as proof of identity. I've can't believe this my address is the same address as my credit card statement and my cell phone number is verified now they have to have yet another piece of personal information. They have my money locked up I can't do anything on eBay. So I ask yet for a 3rd time in the message center to have a supervisor call me and sort this out. Anyone want to get together with their attorney General and ask PayPal to release accounts that have provided plenty of information? I think it's ridiculous that they want all this information yet never asked for it in 10 years of working with them. When my account was locked it asked to prove my identity by text or photo id. I did both and it's not good enough. When my account got hacked I immediately changed my password and deleted the credit card on my account to stop the fraud. I changed my password for PayPal, eBay, and the credit card company to make sure the account is secure. I shouldn't have to keep providing random information about myself that is just going to get lost from poor security on their end. It seems like every time I sale on eBay my PayPal gets hacked. I think it has something to do with buying postage on ebay when it accesses PayPal myself. Anyone think I'm being unreasonable with the response to PayPal's multiple requests for information that I've already provided 3 times? I want a supervisor to call me.
