Hello, I was recently contacted by a phone number claiming to be "paypal" saying that i owed them money as my account was in a negative balance. The first time they called a man named "roy" was saying that i owed money and i needed my details via voicemail. I called back and "anish" asked for my personal details, and when i asked they should have it she got very angry and hung up on me. I did some research on the number and its from a scam centre upnorth pretending to be paypal to scare people into giving their details. The number is recycled from an old amazon scam that recieved news attention, and they have completely turned over and are now pretending to be paypal. The number that called me was <removed>, which is seemingly close to the paypal number. I blocked it and they just called me on their 09 number. It seems they have alot of numbers and when you block one they just use the next number to call you. They are extremely persistent and have called me atleast 10 times today on a range of numbers. Please do not provide anything to them as they can wipe everything out of your account and you cannot get it back, or it will be very hard to. The real paypal number is <removed>. If a number like the ones i mentioned above calls you, then they are probably a scam. Paypal will never ask for card or bank details or a personal adress over the phone. Thank you, and STAY SAFE!!
