Hi, I received this text message today. Naturally I did not click on the link or reply. I have now renamed it within my contacts and blocked the number. The full cellular/ mobile number is: 07516 952148 I then independently logged onto my account and everything appears to be in order. I then proceeded to the help pages, registered with the forum and found some references to this behaviour dating back to over a year ago. I then read the PayPal help pages regarding scam email and suspicious SMS. That section is where I obtained this email address from: spoof@paypal.com I then used a standalone pc to type the URL contained within the text message into Google and it presented a very convincing page which appeared to replicate exactly your page. Naturally I then left that page. Questions: 1. There needs to be a significantly more robust method for reporting this scam than what currently exists on your website in respect of SMS or as we English call them 'Text messages'. What proposals do you have to beef this up? 2. The help around phishing scams and emails on your site is good but times move on and if a fresh offensive around scam text messages is on the march then people need to be able to immediately gain reassurance that their account is intact, the contact they've received is spurious and require specific instruction on what action to take..'forward the message to 7726' is of no use. Why? because you're (PayPal) not kept in the loop over attacks on your customers security and you're not helping your customers to help you keep us secure. What proposals do you have to beef this up? 3. If and I truly hope not, that I'm mistaken and that this text message actually is from you guys...the genuine PayPal and my account has been compromised in some way that was not apparent to me once I had logged on then WHY on earth wasn't a sufficiently pertinent message available to me (after I had successfully logged in) explaining what had happened, why it had happened and what action I needed to take? It may or may not be relevant but within minutes of this text message being received the telephone landline also rang. I never answer the landline and never answer the mobile unless it's from a known caller. It transpired the landline call was a number withheld...surprise, surprise. The suspicion being that the attempt at fraud was a two pronged attack. Eager for your thoughts and reply and naturally if this is permissible I'll load this info up onto the forum in the interim. Cheers
