This you have to know before opening the request, reversing a refund is not possible. You have to consider that if your item arrives after the seller has issued the refund then you get to keep the item for free.   ... View more

Just personally speaking I wouldn't send any money to some stranger direct without any further exchange... Perhaps if the sale were conducted through a venue such as Facebook or Ebay then you'd have some protection but just sending your money outright? I wouldn't do it. Even a website, if it's not a place you've heard of before, beware. ... View more

I did NOT see an option to pay with credit card, anywhere.   What I did under Managed Payments it's under: Account Settings > Account > Payments (Right under Payment Methods) Being able to access that section took several tries, I kept getting "it's not you it's us" and other such errors but it's there. Also see attached picture.   Once there you'll be able to add / delete payment methods, in my case I deleted Paypal and added a credit card.   Further, I went into my Paypal and under Account Settings > Business Profile > Money, banks and cards... Scrolled to the bottom, where it says: "Set Automatic Payments" there is a link, clicked that... And changed all "Ebay Inc Shipping" from active to Inactive.   Then went back to ebay, went to ship my orders and right before paying it gave me the option to change from Paypal Payouts TO Pending Payouts.   I did NOT see an option to pay with credit card, anywhere.   ... @JamesSantoro wrote: Hello my name is james santoro,  i recently went to my local store to get a prepaid visa/mastercard but noticed they were all out and had started to only stock the reloadable ones. so i bought one thinking it's the same thing but i was shocked when i got home and had to regester it and put in my social security number (etc). i am not 18 so im worried that im gonna get in some troubble and that my money is all gone. is there any way to get a refund because whenever i call the refund number it just wants me to set up an account... please help  Would it get you in some trouble if you had to ask your parents for assistance? Reason I ask is you do not have to be 18 to have a social security number, however your parents may have to apply for it.  As well they should be able to assist you in terms of the card registration, even if they have to register it in their name so you can spend the money. Hope that helps. ... View more

@kcflanders wrote: Has Paypal ever assisted anyone who was scammed by being asked for Friends and Family Payment for a goods transaction? Paypal is very aware of this scam, for the average user the first time they've even heard of this time of transaction is when another member asks for them to send them money in that form. Usually something like "hey, can you send the money as friends and family? I can drop the price a couple bucks since I won't be charged the fee."    Let me get this straight: A stranger is asking your someone to send money as friends and family? Hello!!! You see nothing wrong with that statement?   <SPOILER ALERT!> A stranger is NOT friends and family! </SPOILER>   So don't do it.   It's not paypal's job to save you or your friends or someone or whoever from themselves, if they can't figure out that you shouldn't give your money away to strangers then I'm not so sure anyone can help that.    Then there's always this:   @DPCreations wrote: @mishy1950   It looks like bought something from an eBay seller but decided to help the seller avoid payment processing fees by paying with the friends/family option. This is not a scam,  your choice to violate PayPal policy and terms of service to use friends/family for purchased goods.  You can't just cancel money sent as friends/family such payment is not suspicious as you willinging made the payment.  There is nothing to displute as you, yourself, made the payment freely with no expectation of goods/services.
