If your item isn't over $250 and you have proof of delivery then PayPal will side with you in a not received dispute.   Just call PayPal and talk to the Investigations dept and they'll close the case in your favor. ... View more

Hello, Your bigest "risk" as a seller is not whether a check clears.  Your biggest risk as a seller is PayPal refusing to pay you after a sale!   PayPal now has a policy of holding (i.e., stealing) your money.   I sold something on eBay weeks and weeks ago.  I shipped right away and received positive feedback.  But PayPal is "holding" my money.  I even called PayPal customer service, and sent an hour on the phone.  The rep said the funds were being released.  PayPal even sent me an e-mail confirming that the money was on the way.  But still, my money is being "held."   Now, I have a new problem.  The money no longer shows up in my PayPal account screen, bu it is also not being deposited into my checking account either.  The money appears to be gone.   I'm not alone!  If you are a seller -- BEWARE!  PayPal holds your money for no apparent reason and refuses to release it, even after you ship the item and even after you receive positive feedback.  Sounds ike simple theft.   Don't believe me?  Do a search for "hold" in this forum.  Also, check out this thread: https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/Receiving-money/PAYMENT-HOLD/m-p/127694#M5244 ... I have the solution -- stop selling things for .99 and high shipping. Most sellers doing that on eBAY ARE MAKING MOST THEIR MONEY ON THE SHIPPING, so there's no reason for them to complain about getting charged a merchant fee.   In fact, when they file for a business license, it should have to be under dual purpose -- a) goods b) shipping company, cause that's where they make money. liuchess, thanks for the reply.   I suppose I could refund the entire amount and tell them that PayPal charged me $0.30 for the mistake, but I don't understand why myself or the sender have to be charged $0.30 for the mistake. It seems like a strange way for PayPal to do business where just having a PayPal account means that I'm 'at risk' for $0.30 charges due to mistakes by senders.   I've had my PayPal account 10 years and I'd like to have it another 10 years, but I don't think will be possible if my account will be at risk for charges like this.   Is there any way I can escalate this?   Thanks. ... PayPal usually sides with the buyer because if they don't, the buyer might chargeback. This is paid by the seller if he has funds, but if the seller doesn't pay then PayPal takes the loss. ... View more
