Unable to compete payment for eBay item

I am trying to make a payment on an eBay item I purchased last night.  When pushing the "Continue with Paypal" button I get the login prompt for Paypal on eBay, and when I put in my email and password (which I have checked is the correct one) eBay spits a "Page not found" error at me.  When conacting their customer support, I have been told this is a Paypal issue.

I also have gotten this error this week when I sold an item and tried to print a packaging label for a transaction.  Printing the shipping label works just fine, but I cannot print the packaging label like I used to.

Hi cimmerayn,

If you log into your PayPal account under the "Send Money" tab you should see a "Pay for eBay items" link. This is an alternative way to pay for eBay purchases.

What kind of error message are you seeing when you attempt to print a packing slip?

Look under the search for ebay bucks and see we are having similar problems!

I also get an error after clicking the "checkout" button on eBay in order to pay for my purchases. After clicking that button and logging into PayPal with my username and password, it goes to this screen. Normally, after I log in, PayPal would ask for my security key code, since I am using one of those. I've got a few items to pay for on eBay and I am unable to, as this keeps happening. Help please!

The same problem exists with me when using ebay's check-out. When ebay's check-out process reaches the log onto Paypal section the process skreaches to a halt with malfunctions and I receive an "error on page" computer message and basically ebay's check-out process is halted. The present ebay check-out is of no benefit whatsoever. OK, I contacted Paypal, described the problem and was told it was an ebay problem. After much effort and considerable time I found an ebay function that would work and contacted ebay advising them of this problem. After a long wait I finally received a reply from ebay today, November 19th. Ebay, now get this, informed me the problem was a Paypal problem and that I should contact Paypal! Folks this is irresponsible airhead mentality. Are both ebay and Paypal run by mush heads? Is there anyone employed by either organization who is capable of correcting the problem? Wake up.

I just got off the phone with PayPal regarding the eBay checkout process error. I was told that is a known issue with the PayPal security key. So, I disabled the security token that I had, and I am finally able to checkout on eBay! I then added my cell phone as my new security key and it works just fine. So, I think the issue has been isolated to the "token" security key. I also ordered one of those new credit card type secuity keys, so we'll see if that works. Until PayPal fixes this, you should disable your security token and use your cell phone as your secuity key. Hope this helps!

I have the security credit card type key and I am having the same problem so having that won't solve this problem.  This is very frustrating!

Thanks for the info. Guess I'll just have to wait until this whole situation is sorted out before I add my new security key. At least I'll be able to take it with me now, since the token was a bit bulky.

FWIW - This now seems to be working again. I experienced this last year and ever since my PayPal security key was switched to my cell phone. Well, I decided to switch my security key back to the key fob token and it's working again. I can once again pay for an eBay item via eBay, then have it send me to PayPal's page, which now actually prompts me for my security token (that's the step that was broke for me). Hooray.
