Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them! Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

Let me know to. I am at Standard, and my funds are still held. Ebay says to SELL more to get Above Standard-how can you sell more if their not buying. Also they say to reduced your shipping charges. I charge the actual shipping cost on all my orders-and still received a 4.7 on my DSR. With ebay-paypal taking out fees on shipping to now,I am losing $$$ not the buyer.I can't afford to reduce my shipping cost, and forget about adding the shipping into your start price and shipping it Free, because if the starting price is to high they won't buy it anyway.
Oh by the way I to have 100% positive with 5.0 on everything except the shipping-do you think its possible for "SOMEONE" to mess with my shipping charge ratings-as an excuse to HOLD FUNDS LONGER??
Your gonna get **bleep**ed no matter what you do.

I just received an email today stating they would be holding payments on my account for 21 days. I thought the email was a hoax - you know, one of the phishing schemes - because it didn't make any sense. I have been selling on ebay for several years, have 100% positive feedback, and never had a single complaint from a buyer. So adding a "hold" to my account didn't make sense.
But when I phoned paypal to find out if the email was fake, I was told it was real and that "everyone" is having the hold placed on their accounts. I told the rep this is a huge mistake - I compared it to the "netflix" situation where a bad policy change caused a mass exodus of customers (not to mention the stock price nosediving) - and said this new holding policy at paypal will likely cause a lot of loyal, long-time paypal customers like myself to look for another firm to process payments.
The rep then assured me it wouldn't take 21 days - and that if I shipped through paypal and they see the item is delivered, the funds will be released. However, after reading the posts in this thread, I don't she was telling me the truth. It sounds like paypal waits the full 21 days, which is ridiculous for sellers who have perfect track records.
I'm all for paypal cracking down on the scammers and bad sellers. But to penalize honest, loyal sellers who have 100% positive feedback is mindboggling. Does anyone here have recommendations for other companies that process payments? If so, I'm definitely open to trying them.

I too, have been waiting on my funds to be available since the sale on 9/27. I am not a frequent seller at all, however I do purchase from Ebay from time to time. I have only 100% positive feedback, have an established paypal account, etc, etc....didn't know it was going to take this long!!

I am a part-time seller, I don't sell alot, but have been with Ebay since 2000. What I sold USED to stay in my PayPal account-so if I wanted to Bid/Buy from a seller-the money was there, not coming out of my bank.
I wanted to bid on a few items the other day, knowing I had sold some items. Checked and EVERYTHING was on a 21 day hold. Well no money available in my PayPal account to bid on other sellers items.
WHAT do you think if I wanted to BID on an item-emailed the seller and said-My money is on hold for 21 days-could you wait until PayPal releases my money?,then I could pay you-oh and by the way your money will most likely be on a 21 day hold also-so you would only have to wait 42 DAYS for your money.... Think that would go over very good? PayPal/Ebay doesn't realize that we use the money mainly to buy from other sellers on here-so the money is staying right here.
Well my funds should of been released on the 11th and is still on hold.
Guess I won't be shopping on Ebay for any Christmas gifts.
And then THE FEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really it is no longer worth selling on here.

Problem-Playing one of the FB Games I wondered how much game tokens cost and accidentally bought them. I contacted FB immediately. They apologized and said they would refund them money $200. Meanwhile FB had already taken the money from paypal. They did refund the money that day. PayPal then goes and takes the money from my checking account the very next day. The debit and credit were done on the 6th and they took money from me on the 7th and it is now the 10th and the money is in limbo somewhere and I want it back. I can't see it on my PP account anywhere but I clearly see the debit on my checking account. Also I had purchased some T-shirts via an online company and used PP for payment and I was not satisfied with the product. The online company gave me my money back on the 6th via PP but it is pending and I want that money back too. So can someone tell me what I am suppose to do? Please advise anyone who can help.

From my experiences it takes 10 BUSINESS DAYS for the money to get back into my account.
PP is very slow to return the money, but extremely fast to take it. Good Luck

Totally agree...how is a seller supposed to keep spending to ship items fast, only to have to wait on their money to be available??? Ebay is gonna lose a lot of sellers. People cannot afford to keep spending and spending to ship items only to have Paypal hold it at least 21 days! How will sellers pay their bills??

Like they say, "It's my money & I want it now!" I'm off work on medical leave & selling stuff & can't afford to ship it, but they have already taken their fees out. I agree...Ebay is gonna loose customers.

I joined this forum to complain about this very issue! I buy and sell a few items a year through ebay. Noticed today a hold on the $$ for something I sold. It appears they release the $$ sooner if you print out a packaging label from either ebay or PayPal. Well, I've already taken the item to the post office! When did this new rule go into effect?
