Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them! Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

you know. when you mention bills. why couldn't there be a way where we could channel all our bills that we pay for by using the money that you all make off of ebay a way to make paypal pay for those bills sense they are the ones that are indeed holding your money back from you all in the first for no reason. maybe if the whole world or part of it use our heads and started to channel this stuff directly at paypal and started to make them pay for stuff sense they want to act like a bank andalso like god nd ll that maybe it's time we flood them with all our bills and what sense they are holding our money back from us. maybe if they had to do what we had do and pay all our things for us OUT of their money and what not maybe just maybe then they would get a clue. also if any doubt collectors calls you just tell them to go and talk to paypal about the money and tell them why you couldn't pay the other place for! doing this would cause a negative reaction back towards paypal at them. the more the doubt collectors would hear the same story about call paypal and talk to them for them to get there money.. the word would get out fast and also people out there would really see what paypal is really like then and it would cause a negative reaction on them.
also if you really like to hurt paypal and get evening at ebay as well. you can also.. if you have a debit card from paypal, make sure you get your ebay account sellers account up there alittle in fees and then go to paypal and remove all your banking info from paypal. then go ebay and change your source of seller fee paying over to your paypal debit card. put that on file for the only source for paying your seller fees on ebay. then make sure you keep your paypal account funds way down under that seller fee price on ebay though. then just hang on and hold back and watch the fun start between ebay and paypal. ebay will try there dangest to get their money from you using your paypal debit card info on file which is link to your paypal account and sure enough with paypal holding your money back from you they are also indeed holding money back from there own place ebay. so when they think they got you **bleep** ed by holding your funds back from you. you got paypal as well and ebay by holding ebay money back from them! and if it wasnt for ebay, paypal wouldn't be to well known. now if ebay takes and says if you don't pay your sellers fees that they will forward your account to a collection agency. tell them go right ahead as you will tell that agency why you haven't paid your ebay sellers fees for and that is because paypal is holding all your funds back from you anymore and tell them why as this will cause a negative chain reaction back at paypal and don't you think the people working at these collection agencys will not look into this as well! They might be sellers them selfs!
i also found out if you stand your ground and don't give in and don't sell anything on ebay for at least 2 months after you get a email from paypal stating that they are going to hold your funds for now on for the Hold Funds policy. in afew months of you not selling anything they will send you another email stating they removed the Hold Policy off your account for good preformance! which is saying they couldn't make money off of you by holding your funds from you so they decided to lift the hold hoping you go back to selling again so they can then get ya. plus what is more strange is how is it good preformance on your part if you haven't use there services on ebay if you haven't sold anything for awhile?! there is none! i should know as back in june when i got my email stating they was going to be holding my funds on ebay sales for now on i stop selling that night! and holded my ground with ebay and paypal and still doing it yet to! and i'm telling all my friends and also telling them to tell there friends also paypal and there whole Hold Policy with ebay. when i run into a people and i over hear them talking about thinking of using ebay to sell on and using paypal to collect payments by. i come out and tell them all about paypal and what they are doing on sellers that uses ebay and what all they will half to do just get payment. hey its all fact about paypal and how they are running stuff now with ebay.

Im with you on that. Ive had it with this crap from them all the time. Once that lady took over ebay everything went down hill from there...except the charges to the sellers of course! I have 3 different accounts on ebay and seperate accounts on pay pal. Im letting my auctions run their course this week and Im closing everything. Ive opened new stores through etsy.com and artfire.com as well as amazon. You dont have the ridiculous fees, wont have to deal with pay pal keeping your hard earned money.

I'm new to selling on ebay and I just sucessfulyy sold my tickets to the customer. They are satisfied and will be attending event today. And I still don't have the 75.00 dollars that is owed to me. i mean pay pal is quick taking money out of my account but don't want to place money into my account. It's crap.
I was counting on that money to help pay bills and do more business, but now I had to take a pay day loan out to do that. I'm in debt now thanks. This is why the economy is bad because of fraud corporations like Pay Pal comitting such criminal acts. They are claiming we are the frauds when it is them. I swear I'm not using Pay Pal or ebay ever again. Also how come ebay or Pay Pal has nothing on their site warning sellers of this hold. It's only mentioned after sell is complete. This is true highway robbery.

HMMM!!! Very interesting comments. When I sell on eBay and use PayPal, I never ship anything until I know the funds have cleared my account. Sometimes it may take a few days, but when I do ship, I know that the funds are in the account and available. True, the buyer may have to wait a few extra days, but that is another thing that I put in the shipping information. Items will not be shipped until funds are posted in my account. Also, do not accept checks, if customer does not want to use PayPal, then they have to go to the Post Office or their bank and send me a money order or a cashiers check. Have used PayPal for many years and have never had any problems.

It isn't clear in your post whether or not Paypal has applied this new 21 day hold policy to your Paypal account. If Paypal has applied the new policy to your Paypal account, do you mean that you wait until you see the cleared funds (meaning the buyer's funds have cleared) and are in your Paypal account, then you ship and then you wait for Paypal to release the 21 day hold Paypal puts on the money in your account?
I'm just asking for clarity - not questioning what you do or anything like that
Thanks

This is absolute garbage.
Just a way for paypal to collect interest
on everyones hard earned money for at least
21 days.
I have stopped selling on ebay and will
no longer be a victim of paypals criminal activity.
I emailed them a week ago and got no reply.
Received positive feedback and funds are srill being held
more than 24 hours later.
I suggest everyone stop shipping.
Maybe after a few million disputes
in a week they will get the message and
quit with the Gestapo tactics.
Thanks for nothing paypal.
You stole the last nickel you are going to steal from me.
