HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them!  Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

They are holding your money, and are expecting you to put your business on the line for a instant electronic transaction that is INSTANT. What right do they have to do that?

I'd like to add to the queue and say this is ridiculous.

I'm no superseller or whatever, but I've been on ebay since 1998 and have 100% positive feedback. I've been using paypal since 2000 I think, and have had no issues there either. Suddenly, without warning, I find out that they start this policy of holding your money.

Newsflash! I was selling this item because I'm broke and need money. How am I supposed to ship it if you're sitting on my funds?!?!?!?!?!?

This is really poor business and I'm not going to use paypal again unless this policy goes away. Money orders are a pain, but at least I get my funds.

Good point there!  I do not mind money orders.  Just have to check the mail frequently & go to the bank.  I always wait to ship until the money order is received and send an email to the customer to let them know that.  Never a problem!  I only accept MO, no checks or cashiers checks.

Unfortunately, if you sell in any volume and do not accept PayPal or credit cards it is a very big problem only accepting money orders...  That is the ONLY reason why I still accept PayPal.

LETS BOYCOTT PAYPAL !!!!!

So as a good seller for years. As a seller who has paid thousands of dollars to EBay and Papal. I say we get them where it hurts. They want to hold our money. Lets stop using them. I'm sure there are other sources. If they edit our comments and links, I will start my own forum. This is not fair. We helped build this company to where it is today. Now this is the thanx we get?? Just like the BIG BAIL out. We bailed out the banks and the companies and they're response was to cut all out credit lines in half if not all together. Stop lending us money. Raising all our fees and rapping us as much as possible. Not papal/Ebay have joined the club. Bris_bills@yahoo.com Email me and we can get this going. I'm tired of being abused for doing the right thing. It's time to fight back.. I'm sure t his will be edited soon so act fast people.

Eventually, they will shut this link down too. I am sure they have used this to monitor customer reactions to various policies and issues. I am certain they have learned enough by now on this subject to understand that providing a forum will be counter profitable soon.

If you continue to use eBay, ask buyers for cashier checks, personal checks, just hold the merchandise till paid and cleared. Make certain you make Pay Pal the reason for this. If you are a small business like me, use your credit card machine. They still have the "protection" of a credit card purchase.

Next, in your product descriptions, bash them there. Explain (briefly) what the problem is and why you are requiring this alternate payment method. As long as you don't curse or use "taggable " wording, they can't find it. Continue to use the BBB to complain, and eBay forums as well. eBay owns Pay Pal, so beating on them can't hurt either.

This isn't even a matter of needing the money to survive. The down turn has created an explosion of business of eBay, in order for many to make mortgages and electric payments. SOOOO, this is GREED and Dominance.

Stay Angry my Friends! Post soon and often!
