HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them!  Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

I am going to contact the FCC and my state representatives and we all should..  Isn't there something about fair business practice?  This is a monopoly that needs to get decent competition or get broken up like AT &T was years ago..  Customer service is horrid to non-existent, they require us to only use PayPal and not money orders and checks and they not only take their piece of our sales but now have the use of our money for 21 days. How about all the bad buyers (oh, I forgot, it is only bad sellers that they need to worry about ) that will buy our items, say there is a problem, get their money back and then won't send our items back, that is what I am afraid of.  The FCC needs to look at all these demands that eBay and PayPal are forcing on its real customers - its sellers and do something about these questionable new practices.

That is great info.  I think I was on ioffer or another one after my last round of trying to sell on ebay.  I left at the time they started to change the way money and the Power Sellers were going to be treated much better than us low life little people.

I just now decided to look at the site again, but after reading all of this about them holding your money for 21 days, they sound like a credit card company that raises your rates!  I got rid of all my cards that did this...

But I won't even try to sell anything on ebay again.  All of the things I bought a couple of years ago have been given to a deserving charity, and we were able to use that on our income tax.  Think about it!  It can't hurt.  Will have to be done for next year...

Shameful, ebay and PayPal...you used to be pretty reputable companies.

I will check out ioffer.com... And, regards to their new policy....

The new policy is OUTRAGEOUS!!!  This is what I have done as a protest and will continue to do!!!!!... I transferred all of my funds from PayPal to my bank account.  Spread the word and.. Just maybe, PayPal will get the message!!!  Withdraw all your funds as they become available!!!

Like we do not have enough to do!  Now I have to really push for feedback OR .. If not purchased via E-Bay..keep track of every item we mail AND notify PayPal when they are delivered.. I sell in volume and they [PayPal] has NO idea what a Pain this new policy is. Or if they do.. they just don't give a crap about Sellers..  Let's not kid ourselves...  This new policy has nothing to do with Buyer Protection...  By holding YOUR money for up to 21 days.. They increase their profits!!!  We are not talking about pennies here.. We are talking about Millions of Dollars!

Idea is terrible. I usually use the money I get payed with to ship the item.

i sent this today to the US attorney general I would to bring to your attention some unfair business practices of Paypal/Ebay they have routinely and consistently freeze the money in accounts and want every credit card and bank account you have listed linked to the account so they can access in-case of an issue it started when my Ebay account had higher then usual sales my vendor was having issues with his payment gateway so i issued everyone refunds nothing wrong with that its the correct thing to do but not to Paypal/Ebay they froze it stating suspicious activity and wont release the funds for 180 days stating it was done just incase there were any disputes with other purchases which has now happened since the money to ship there items is also frozen im not shipping out of my own pocket this is unethical behavior and unjust they have also consistantly froze funds for 21 days after the buyer has received the item they have purchased to see if they return it because they don't like it which makes no logical sense would sears or GM let you take a washer or a car home for 21 days to see if you like it and if not you can return it for a full refund i don't think so . I had a big purchase from a customer for $1400 which is frozen in the account when i issued his refund Paypal seemed fit to take it from my bank account which only had $200 in it hence it is now overdrawn and i had bank fees added on top of that why couldn't they take it from the funds available in the frozen account .Paypal isn't going to reimburse me those fees and yet they are going to attempt to withdraw the money again I don't know when my personal account became their property Ebay also only allows you to accept payment from Paypal no other sources are accepted or allowed Ebay owns Paypal which isn't wrong but it has to violate anti-trust laws since they don't allow any other form of payment. there are other people who this has happened to and the Paypal forums are full of these type of issues and here is one link to such forum https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/eBay/From-Now-On-I-Am-Not-Going-To-Ship-Items-If-Funds-Are-On-Ho... can you please look in on this i also filed a complaint with the FTC and the Better Business Bureau Along with messages to Sen Casey and Sen Specter congress man murphy and with my states attorney general
