HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them!  Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

I am new to selling on ebay, recently learned Pay Pal is owned by ebay, (what is that called when you're charged fees twice, "not allowed" to use any other forms of payment, EXCEPT Pay Pal???...I think it's called DOUBLE DIPPING INTO THE "GOOD GUY'S POCKET!!!) I just sold an item on ebay for the first time, to find out, there's a fee/charge for "this", charge for "that", now Pay Pal is holding MY MONEY Hostage, until THEY decide to fork it over! However, I did notice, they felt quite comfortable, taking "their share," right off the top, w/out any sort of "holding" on their end!!!!!!!! Here I'm just trying to get by, make ends meet, selling whatever I can, etc., to take care of my family in these hard financial times for many of us....and what do I find out??? "Congratulations, your ebay item has sold, your payment has been recieved, (and NOW we're going to hold it hostage, until we see fit!!) I was counting on that money, to cover some necessary family expenses!!!! NOW I find out that I've gotta wait, 21 days (so they say..we'll see if that holds true or if other "surprises pop up), wait for the buyer to give positive feedback! I had NO IDEA, THIS IS HOW IT ALL "WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!!" What a rip off!!! Then to probably make matters worse, (since as I said, I'm "new" to selling on ebay), I just went to local post office and sent out item, paid for it outta MY pocket, then I just noticed there's a "print shipping label" area! So now I probably WON'T get my money, I'm sure Pay Pal, will say that I didn't "follow the rules" and thus KEEP MY MONEY!! Does any1 have any suggestions?? I welcome any/all sound/reasonable advice as to getting MY money from Pay Pal!!

Thanks!

Because thanks to PayPal I CANNOT!!!  I am so **bleep** off at PayPal (which is owned by eBay) I hope a new service will emerge soon so we can get out from under their control! I've done everything they ask us to do to speed up the hold... 100% feedback, item tracked and delivered etc.... And still not one penny freed up!!!??

Hello!!! IT'S NOT YOUR MONEY!!! It belongs to the seller.... ME!!! You took your cut weeks ago!! I suppose you need my money to fund Meg Whitman's race to be California's governor!

Hey that's quite a name! Listen: to you and all the others who just have 1, 2, or 3 posts; if you look you all will see that there's 125 pages on this topic. You have to go back 20 to 30 pages or so and read up on what has been posted . Please! It's imperative!! There is so much information about other money transfer systems, and other online auctions. There's links posted like Ebay InvestorNews that tell you how big eBay actually is and the other things there into. There's also information about Louis Vuitton suing eBay (one of a few lawsuits ever since 2002).

People even if you have to go back to the first, page then please do. Because you're going to sound pretty silly to all the others whove been in this dicussion board for a while. This topic has been on this discussion panel since a little before Christmas!

Djten--you are a gem for continuing to post this message.  I still check these forums and I have been very supportive but when I start to see the same things over and over again by new posters I have just lost interest.

There is truly a wealth of information on this just as Djten has stated.  Along with that please register on letssuepaypal or read the legal contact information for a law firm is close to filing a class action suit--they need your names and stories including dates and amounts.

Djten--thanks again for posting this constant reminder!

Well femsol you can't get tired just cause some new people are late at getting the information that has been posted since December 2009. All of us that have been looking at this information for awhile need to continue to heighten the awareness new people that are just now receiving the information about the various holds. I would not expect someone to say in July of 2010 go back to December 2009 and read all those important posts. Lets all stick together and continue the fight to get things changed the best we can collectively. Thank You

Yeah, I kinda agree with Pop a little. I mean, it would be nice if those 7/10 posters would go back to catch up but we still have to keep the fire burning if we're going to win this thing. And who knows, maybe somebody else will come along with some new info and some new links which will further aid the cause.
