Cannot use eBay checkout, need to pay for eBay items directly through Paypal

Ebay rejects my State Designator, FM, but Paypal accepts it.  I need to pay for my eBay items directly through Paypal, so I can use my correct shipping address.

I live in a US protectorate, with US domestic mail.  But, UPS does not deliver here.  So, eBay does not inlcude us in their US domestic addresses.  They list us as a separate country.  However, I can use my correct address on Paypal.  I need to make my payments directly through Paypal, and skip the eBay checkout.

This use to be an option.  But today, when I logged in to pay for an eBay item, it only gives me one option, to return to eBay and use eBay checkout.

TerryFM- Sorry for the frustration you've been getting from our systems.  You're correct, we've recently taken away the option to for eBay items through PayPal because of conflicts with the eBay checkout process.  The best solution I have for you now would be to contact the seller and have them invoice you through PayPal (not eBay or you'll run into the same problem).  As long as they reference the eBay item number, everything should work out ok.

Good luck!

Thank you for your reply, Andy

However, I tried that and the seller said she could not sell to me outside of eBay.  That I had to use eBay checkout.

Before you changed the Paypal checkout for eBay, I could pay the seller directly through Paypal, and the payment

came through on their end as an eBay payment.  Now, it looks like I am paying for something outside of eBay.

Is there any way you can change it back so I can pay for eBay items through Paypal?  Aren't they related?

When I talk to eBay, they say it is a Paypal problem.  When I talk to Paypal, they say it is an eBay problem.

TerryFM- I understand your frustration; the 'Pay for eBay Items' was actually a workaround that we would use for different issues as well.  For us to turn back on this functionality, eBay would have to roll their checkout process back to the previous version, and that's just not going to be possible.

As far as the seller, they can send you an invoice through PayPal for an eBay item.  They just are choosing not to, so I guess they don't want to sell their item too badly.

Best of luck and I hope things work out with your seller.
