The Community Chat is now open and unlocked! Our moderator staff will be available for the next hour to answer your questions about PayPal, get to know you, or just have idle conversation. We do ask that posts follow the PayPal Community Help Forum Policy and the Forum Decorum Guidelines.
Once the session is over, this thread will be locked again, but you will be able to view the content in the forums. This chat will be a regular feature every Wednesday from 4-5 PM CDT, so if you missed us this week, please feel free to stop by in the future!
Last week we discussed what were some of the events we, as individuals, look forward to in the fall. One of the other items we all see around this time of year is a plethora of sweet treats. So share with us what's your favorite type of candy!

HELP!
I logged into my Paypal account last evening and was ASTOUNDED to find that the funds deposited there by an Ebay customer are on hold.
These funds are on hold apparently because I set up an additional eBay account, linked to my ONE and only Paypal account.
I've had the same VERIFIED, PREMIER paypal account in good standing since 2005! I'm an easily idenifiable American citizen and my Paypal account is linked to two longstanding banks here in the United States.
I've been selling on Ebay under my primary seller name for MORE than seven years!
Yet when I branch out and open a new eBay account -- linked to the same Paypal account -- to expand my business, I'm being told that I'm a 'new' seller?
I called Paypal AND eBay this afternoon, to have a human being review this situation, see that I'm ONE non-scamming person with multiple seller accounts, and address this sitution, to no avail. The reply is that I'm a 'new seller'. What??? How is someone selling on eBay since 2004 a 'new seller'?
This is annoying, to say the least. What can you at PayPal do to address this issue?

Hi MARCASSHA,
If you're getting the messaging that says you're a new seller, there should be a link within that messaging that says something to the effect of "not a new seller?" If you click that, it will allow you to go through steps to associate the accounts.
There are multiple reasons why holds may be applied, and the reality is that they are applied to most sellers. It has become industry standard. Most companies in the financial services industry have begun enacting holds or reserves of some kind on old and new customers alike. Tenure alone is not usually enough to discontinue holds. Good shipping practices, good seller ratings, low-risk categories, and selling consistency are hallmarks of the types of businesses that will be more likely to see discontinuation of holds.
I'm sorry that it has previously boiled down to the term "new seller." I can understand in your situation especially how that would be confusing.
I hope this helps!

Nope. No link that says 'not a new seller'.
The message on the Paypal hyperlink urges me to "establish a successful sales history on eBay." I would think 100 percent positive feedback and 620 'thumbs up' from buyers would be a 'successful sales history'.
Olivia, perhaps YOU, as a live human being, can associate the accounts? I'd really like to transfer the money and pay my Visa bill before the end of the month.
Signed,
Exasperated Longtime Seller

Hi MARCASSHA,
I would if I could! To get assistance with that, I recommend contacting eBay Customer Solutions.
