Verify Card Code

I wanted to confirm my American express prepaid card (the american express prepaid card is the one from gcash, the virtual pay one) and I when I got charged I checked my SMS but I didn't see any code beside the purchase, so I asked for a code again. Nothing, I lost some money and I didn't get the code, can anyone tell me why?

If the card you are trying to add is virtual or issued online you would need to try another card.

Well is there any other way to get the code from the virtual card, and if not, can I get my money back from the virtual card if I use another card?
