I have been trying to link my Bunq account to Paypal. Every time it gives me an error and advice me to contact support. I tried it months ago, and now again, with no success.
I tried Xoom, but it does not allow me to send the money from my Paypal wallet, it makes me pay the amount with the card.
When I tried to send the money from my PayPal account to another PayPal I choose as purpose friends/family, and gave me an error - without a true explanation, just saying it failed - every single time, so I had to do the option of shop/service, one that didn't say it would take time to arrive, or have a fee.
How odd, were the funds in your balance in the same currency of the recipients paypal account?
Also have you done this?
Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > second down click on update next to your preferred way to pay and put a dot in the balance option.

For the question, yes, the same currency (euros). For the setup you suggest: I have already the balance as my payment/prefer one, but this is a reference for shopping, not private transfers.
Right now the situation is that I had to send the money as a payment for something, the consequence is now the money has been blocked at the other Paypal account for 21 days + a big fee we had to pay.
