paypal adding money and transferring

I am very much confused right now, So I've tried adding money to my account using my debit card and an error message "sorry we can't process this payment right now" appears and I'm confused as I thought that my card may not be eligible but looking at paypal it says that it is and on top of that i've contacted my bank and they say that there's no problem on their end. I've also tried transferring money from my paypal balance to my bank account and the same error message keeps popping up every single time i'm genuinely confused and need help.

You can't ''add'' funds to a UK paypal account via a debit card, only a linked and confirmed bank account setting up the direct debit mandate as per link.

However you never need funds in your Paypal account balance as a buyer. When you purchase an item then Paypal credit the seller for you, this is so there is no delay in the despatch of your item. Paypal will then take the wait for the funds to automatically transfer to reimburse them from your linked funding source.

Hi kernowlass, thank you for the feedback! I have just set up the direct debit mandate for my bank account. And when I tried adding money it still pops up the same error message. I have checked and yes my bank account is valid with paypal.
