Why is it so difficult to resolve an issue on Paypal?

Why is it so difficult to actually sort a problem on Paypal? Yesterday I set up a pay in 3 Paypal debited my bank account, however the transaction is showing as pending! This leaves me having no items, but my account has been debited! Trying to resolve it on the app is a waste of time! I have even tried cancelling the transaction, but that isn't able to be done either!

When you pay a company then it is often pending or awaiting authorisation until that company processes your order and captures the pending payment.
If they don't process the order and capture that payment then the pending status times out at 30 days post-payment and returns back to your funding source.
However if the company has processed your order then is there a clearance date as the payment may have gone as an echeque.
Advice is voluntary.
