Release of reservation when paying with PayPal on AirBnB

Hi

One month ago I ordered an apartment via AirBnB, and I payed wit PayPal. The host of the appartment contacted me the same day and said the place was busy, so I went into AirBnB and cancelled my reservation.

One month later the amount is still reserved on my creditcard (not deducted). My creditcard account statement says "Paypal *airbnb", but I see no info about this reservation in my PayPal account. I talked to AirBnB and they say the reserved amount has been released from their side and I was asked to talk to PayPal.

Any idea how to proceed with this?

When you pay a company (rather than an ebay seller or individual), then it is often pending until that company processes your order and captures the pending payment.

If they don't process that order and capture the pending payment then the pending status times out at 30 days post-payment. May take another 24 hours to hit your funding source.
