I am expecting a refund from a company. The company only offers two options, deposit into a bank acct. or PayPal account (Email I use for PayPal). I only have a credit card linked to PayPal. Will that work, that is, will the money be deposited into my credit card acct. via PayPal? Or do I need to link a bank account? Thanks

If you funded the original Paypal payment to the seller from your card then once marked refunded/completed it will automatically go back to that card.
Paypal say allow 30 days for a card (1 billing cycle) but its rarely that long.
(Can vary according to country though).
https://www.paypal.com/us/smarthelp/article/FAQ1212
HOWEVER are they refunding you OR sending a payment as a refund? If its the latter then it will go to your paypal balance and dependent on if they send it using goods/services or friends/family you may get charged a fee and the funds be subject to the new seller hold. Then you could spend it from your balance OR withdraw it to any confirmed bank account OR debit card linked to your paypal account (not a credit card unfortunately).
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Thanks for your speedy reply. I didn't want to go into too many details as sometimes more is less, so to speak. I had some electrical work done, installing a Smart Home Panel from Ecoflow. I paid the electrician via a personal check. Turns out the Smart Home Panel from Ecoflow was bad and had to be returned and replaced. I got the replacement Smart Home Panel so I am fine there but since the electrical device was bad they agreed to refund the electrician's fee as well. I submitted the electrician's bill. They asked for either a bank account or PayPal email address. I thought PayPal would be easier but it has been some time and I have not heard anything and I just want to be sure this will work. That is, that they can just deposit the refund via PayPal into my PayPal linked credit card. Thanks

Then they would be 'sending' a payment as you can only refund paypal payments made using paypal.
So as they are sending the funds read the second paragraph in my first post.

Make sure your email address is confirmed and the senders have the correct one.
Also you have not said which country you are in or currencies involved?

Thanks. I think I understand. As long as it gets here. Now I have to find out what is taking so long.
