I am waiting on a refund from a seller for postage that was agreed to - the seller states he has sent it (from India) but it is not showing up in my account over 1 week now - I have grave doubts as to the payment - any suggestions welcomed

Paypal payments are more or less instant and even if on hold or pending show in your paypal account activity.
So if it was sent as a 'sent' payment and not showing then either...
- they have not sent it.
- they have sent in a currency you have not added as a receiving currency on your wallet.
- you have not confirmed your email address.
However if it was a 'refund' rather than a sent payment then it would show in your paypal activity but automatically go back to your bank account or card, that can take up to a week for a bank and 30 days for a card (one billing cycle) but you would have received a paypal email to say the refund had been issued.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Long story -I purchased goods on ebay - when they arrived were not what I ordered - requested refund - in the end had to go through ebay to the refund on goods - the seller was supposed to send return postage label, but said he was unable to - ebay said to arrange refund with seller - which I did - he states he paid it into my account which is thoroughly correct by the way - I am pretty sure that I will not be getting the refund on postage (which was to India and very expensive) - I have contacted him - will so so again but not hopeful = thanks for your input

If it was an ebay sale and an ebay dispute that you raised then you would need to contact ebay about the seller.
They may contact him or credit you return postage as a goodwill gesture, if you don't ask you don't get so give it a whirl?
