Received 2 payments, and refunded 1, but its like it refunded both.

Had two payments sent to me, and refunded one. But now the other one isn't in my PayPal Balance at all, even though it doesn't say it was refunded. 

The first payment was sent via "Goods and services" on accident, so they sent it again via friends and family. So I refunded the first, but the second payment is gone now too. It was there for a bit, but when I went to transfer it to my bank it was gone.

Never mind! It got used for something I bought earlier in the day, but didn't tell me it used my PayPal Balance.

Is there a way to make it not use that balance? Or have it automatically sent to my bank?
