Fitbit recall refund

Hi all. There was a recall of the fitbit Ionic and I was notified that there is a 299USD refund that has been sent to me. I never had a PayPal account , but gave them my email address. I was told to create a PayPal account using that email and then the funds would be available. I have done so, however my PayPal account is showing a nil balance . Is there anything I still need to do for the funds to reflect ? Thanks so much

I have the same issue.

but how do I update the KYC, as it asks me to upgrade to business account & ask purpose code & date of business establishment. I don’t have any business so I am unsure if I am following the right links.

Hi,

Thank you for the info, I think PayPal removed the phone number (call Fitbit on this number [removed] to claim your Fibit Ionic refund.) Can you please send the phone number in words so that it will be helpful to get it and contact them, please?

Thank you in advance!

Hi @Mudassir1010

Welcome to the PayPal Community!

It sounds like you are having issues with a purchase. In these cases, we typically recommend that you look into filing a dispute case depending on the issue. If the dispute goes in your favor and a refund is agreed to, you would get your funds back. If the item was recalled, it would be beneficial for you to upload official information regarding the recall into the dispute case. This can be done in your Resolution Center after you have filed the dispute. Our Help Center has the instructions to open a case. If you have already filed a dispute and need additional help or guidance, please get in direct contact with PayPal customer support. They can be reached by reviewing our Contact page on the PayPal website. You'll simply scroll down to the available options to select from. Please be sure that you are contacting PayPal within business hours for agent support, and that you are entering in correct account data for verification. This will help you get through.

I hope you find resolution soon!

Thank you,

-Schae

Same problem here.

I contacted PayPal and their consultant by the name of Ghofrane advised me that it is a fake e-mail (i.e. the one saying that I have been sent $309 and I need to accept it for it to be paid into my account.

I wonder if MNet's Carte Blanche would be willing to investigate this?

I had a similar problem. Although I already had a Paypal account, I could see no sign of the refund promised by Fitbit.
I have resolved the issue today. Although Fitbit told me I should find the refund in my Paypal account, it was handled by a separate company, where I have been allocated a gift card with the full refund.

Thank you for the feedback Toni. So you are saying that I may actually still receive my refund from Fitbit, but via a gift card rather !?
