Charged an Erroneous Fee

I sent money to a friend to pay him back and was charged a $15 fee!?!

Paypal's own policy is, and I quote, "When you send money to, or receive money into your PayPal account from, friends and family without making an underlying commercial transaction (that is, the payment is not for the purchase of goods or services or for making any other commercial transaction), we call that a personal transaction." I owe him for several meals, drinks, etc. that we split but he paid for.

As I payed through a bank account, the transaction fee should be waived, again according to Paypal's policy. Yet this is not the case. I demand my $15 back.

Thank you.

Did you select the friends/family option when you sent the funds OR was it a goods/services payment.

Secondly did you fund it from your bank account OR a debit card?

Well even if you did use friends/family its only free if funded from a bank account or balance.

If you use a debit or credit card then you pay a fee.
