Canada to US send money, The message they get is country can't receive this payment .

I have a personal account in the US, and my friend is unable to send me money from Canada. The message they get is "country can't receive this payment" . How do I fix this?

Are they sending USD or CAD?

Then have you added CAD as a receiving currency on your paypal balance?

I haven't.  First time.  I've done a bunch of searches, but I can't figure out how to accept CAD with a personal account.  Do you have a link or directions that are valid?

Click on your wallet and add CAD as a currency.

There are no settings under wallet for currency's.  I did find the solution though.

1. Preferences (gear icon)
2. Sellers Tools
3. Payment receiving preferences
4. Block payments from users who:

I had "Have non-U.S. PayPal accounts checked".  I had to select the other option:  "Initiate payments from the "pay anyone" subtab..."
