Can't Add Funds to Wallet, and Bank is Confirmed but not Verified?

I have a Bank and a Bank Card linked to my Paypal...

My Paypal Wallet says my Bank is "Confirmed" ... and I've used both the Bank and the Card, to make instant payments through Paypal many times over the years... I've had my Paypal account for 20 years without problems.

However, I no longer have an option to "transfer funds" from my bank, to my Paypal Wallet.

I also recently attempted to link my Paypal account, to a Second Life Account, but they say my Paypal is not "Verified" and they won't accept it.

I thought "verified" and "confirmed" were the same thing?

Are they not?

How DO I get my account "verified" .. It used to be... it used to say it was "verified" but now it just says "confirmed".

How do I transfer funds from my bank, to my wallet... if the option in the above link is not available to me?

You confirm bank account or cards, doing so verifies your account as per link.

https://www.paypal.com/us/cshelp/article/how-do-i-verify-my-paypal-account-HELP434

However if you can no longer use your bank account then your account may become unverified so have you had a failed bank transfer or negative balance at all recently that may have caused that?

Not that I am aware of...

But... regardless... how can I resolve it?

Do I have to delete my bank and then RE-Link it or something?

You could try that, but check the direct debit mandate is still showing for paypal in your online banking first.

You can only add a physical bank and not a virtual / digital only bank as paypal does not support that type of bank.

Do you have a balance showing in your paypal account? Only you can't add funds unless you have set up a balance account first?

Failing that you would need to contact customer services.

Contact options for each countries Paypal customer services are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages.

1. Paypal phones (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, (during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out).
4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a private direct message via Social Media on Facebook, Twitter/X, or Instagram pages.

I've never had a balance in my paypal account...

I've only ever used it to make payments on things like Ebay, and such...

My Bank is a physical bank with brick and mortar branches all over the US and I've had this particular bank linked to my paypal for almost a decade now.

I wouldn't know where to find this 'direct debit mandate for paypal' in my online banking account, in fact I've never even heard of such a thing.

Having my bank checking account linked, with a bank card linked... was always enough to make the transactions go through instantly.

This is very frustrating to me that its suddenly not working like it used too...

Customer Service.. yea, clicking that 'help' button, is what brought me to here.

Do they have an actual email that I can use to send them a message?

If you have never had a balance then why did you say that you ''no longer'' have the option to add funds?

From that I deduced the fact that you used to be able to add funds but can no longer do so?

If that is not the case then you would need to set up a balance account first before you may have the add funds option.

If you don't want anymore advice from here on how to do that then your options are to contact customer services..................

I've used to always have an option available to add or transfer funds into my paypal wallet, but I've never needed to actually use it.

I've had my Paypal Account since 2003....

In that time, I've switched between 4 different banks... all brick and mortar locations... My first bank got bought out by a bigger bank, which became my second... but eventually I left that bank because it got 'too big and greedy' with its fees, etc .. my third bank was a small brick and mortar with locations all across the eastern U.S. who then got bought by another bigger bank, which became my 4th and current bank.

Through all that time, I've used Paypal to pay for things online, send money to people, etc.

I've never had to "keep a balance" ... it just, automatically takes the funds straight from my bank, and sends it straight to whomever I'm paying it to; no muss no fuss.

My Account used to say it was "Verified" and as I said, I used to have an option to "Transfer Funds" to the Wallet though I've never needed to use it... but now neither are visible anywhere in my account, and a business that accepts Paypal as a form of payment, that I've used Paypal with before ... is now telling me that my Paypal account is not "Verified" and they won't accept it as a payment form unless its "Verified" ... and I don't understand why its not "Verified" when it used to be.... someone on their website said I had to "add funds to my wallet" which confused me because I've never had to do that before... so when I went to look, I saw the option was not there...

I'll guess I'll try to message them through their online chat or something because they don't have a phone number printed anywhere, and I don't have a facebook and dont use twitter.... the only other option I can think of is to delete my bank and card and then try to RE-Link them to my Paypal...

I just thought, that when I clicked the "help" link and then the "contact us" link in that, and it said "go ask our community!" that meant that this is where I could contact customer service... cause theres nothing else in the "help" link other then some live chat thing that said I could 'leave a message' but that they wouldn't be available to respond until next week.

The 'balance' account option was introduced a while ago.

So if you hadn't received payments at all then it would have not showed.

To get a balance account and the 'add' funds option you would first need to 'receive' a payment from someone.

Then you would get a message saying would you prefer to set up a balance account OR have the funds auto-withdrawn to your bank account, if you choose the former then you would have set up a balance account and would then have the add funds option showing.

I would have told you this yesterday but it sounded as if you preferred to only have advice from customer services.

No problem, if you didn't appreciate me giving up my time to try and help you and are no longer using Paypal then you won't need to ask any future questions or require future help then will you.
