Booking.com payment method Paypal - Convert EUR to USD

Hello community! So I have a booking at booking.com, the total price is 700 eur. I set paypal as payment method and paypal converted that 700 EUR to USD today and as a result my bank converted back that calculated USD amount to EUR.. causing me additional costs. Is it normal or what do you think? Thank you

Hard to advise when you don't say which country you or the recipient of the funds are in???

I have a Revolut card which is linked to my PayPal account.

Just checked the currency conversion option regarding Booking.com:

Apparently the conversion should not have happened by PayPal, but it did.
