refund pending: Why does it take so long this time?

Hi, I made an order for a guitar at this shop, but alltought the site said it was in stock, I was informed it wasn't.

We both agreed to cancel the order. I did receive a mail soon that the order has been refunded.... But even now, a week after all this, no money has been put on my paypal balance or at the credit card account I paid with originally.

I've had contact since with the shop and they said the refund was made 5th of july... Which I believe, but I still don't have any money...

I'd like to know when and how I will receive my 195,95 eur back. Anybody got an idea how I can investigate this?

Pending refunds can only happen for two reasons.

1. The seller has issued a refund from their bank account which takes time to process.

2. You funded the payment to the seller using bank transfer. What PayPal do here is credit the recipient on your behalf (so there is no delay in despatching your item). Then if you receive a refund in the meantime they are unable to issue this until the original bank transfer completes.
