making an ongoing donation to a chrity

I want to donate to a charity  of my choice on a monthly basis.  If I put it through as a "make payment" it goes through as a one-off  there is no option to make it monthly.   Even more annoying is the lack of option to change the amount of donation to an existing charity. I do not want to use the Paypal donation scheme.

Thank you for posting and welcome to the PayPal Community. I am sorry to hear you are having issues making a donation on a monthly basis. Please know that in order to establish a recurring donation, the charity you want to donate to need to offer this option through their website. If you're just sending a payment through your PayPal account, it can only be a one time payment. I suggest you to check with the charity to see if they can prompt you on how to initiate a recurring donation. I hope this information helps. -Marissa
