Wrong payment method used

I have my account set up to bill a credit card for online purchases, but two purchases on Google play got charged to my bank account instead. There doesn't seem to be any way to report this or complain to PayPal. Has anyone else had this happen?

Hello, @Akosanchez. I certainly understand how charges being sent to a bank account instead of a card would pose a concern. The likely explanation is that your payments to Google are going through a Pre-Approved Payment (such as a Billing Agreement or Subscription), but the preferred payment method you mentioned does not apply to Pre-Approved Payments. I'm sorry for any misunderstanding.

As you mentioned, your preferred payment method is for online purchases. That includes purchases that are completed via a merchant's website. Pre-Approved Payments don't fall into that category, however. Pre-Approved Payments such as Billing Agreements need to have a preferred payment method set for each one. Please check out https://www.paypal.com/smarthelp/article/faq1054 for more information on this topic.

I hope this is helpful. Thanks for your patience during this time.

Sincerely,

Michael
