Transaction issue

Hello, I've placed an order with Evri for 2.99 and paid by PayPal. I've got 2 payments on both my PP and and my bank account but only one is showing on my Evri. One of the PayPal transactions has a yellow clock with an authorisation message on it saying: This is a temporary authorisation to make sure your funding source will cover the payment. Your funding source will be charged when Hermes Parcelnet Limited T/a Evri completes your order. What does this mean?

When you pay a company then it is often pending or awaiting authorisation until that company processes your order and captures the pending payment.

If they don't process the order and capture that payment then the pending status times out at 30 days post-payment and returns back to your funding source.

Hi, I am still confused. There's a second transaction with this message, the first one has worked as it should. I only placed one order.

Hello @emmajohnsonx,

Thanks for the help @kernowlass!

I understand your confusion here! When you attempt to make a payment, the amount can be temporarily charged to your bank/card and this is called an authorization charge. It's possible that a duplicate authorization/order placed when you initiated the payment. No need to worry! As this is an temporary authorization, it will get voided within 72 hours. If not, you can also contact the merchant to cancel this temporary authorization.

I hope this helps!
