Pending pay pal in 4 transaction- pending first payment

I ended up paying for it another way and the vendor has confirmed it. I clicked on PayPal and it helped to populate my address etc but I didn’t press on the payment and brought me back to the main page which I then paid an alternative way. Will I get the first payment money back into my account?

If you did not complete the Pay in 4 purchase, it is likely that the pending payment you are seeing is a pre-authorization payment. You should see this pending payment drop off within 7 business days.
