Payment made not in my history

I made payment through paypal, received email from paypal that transaction is successful with transasction ID but when logging into paypal the transaction doesnt show in history and the email of merchant showing in the paypal receipt email is coming back? What is going on? I have the email from paypal with the transaction ID and merchabt ID, and I used my card linked to paypal but nothing in my paypal history??

It sounds as if you paid as a guest when you conducted the transaction with the merchant. Payments made with a card, without logging into your PayPal account, are guest payments and they will not show up in your PayPal account.
