Paying a US bill with a US Dollar credit card but living in Canada.

I live in Canada but use a US Dollar Credit card (with Paypal) when paying for charges that are in US dollars.  However when dealing with Airbnb my charges always go through multiple currency conversions costing me more.  Why and how can I get this corrected?

Hello @CalgaryBob

Welcome to the PayPal Community! This is a great question, I'm sorry to hear you've run into some issues making a purchase with a specific currency on Airbnb. Normally, when you send money using your Visa, MasterCard, or AMEX, the amount charged to your card will be charged in your local currency. During checkout, you should also have the option to choose a different currency. Since it sounds like there's some issues with how certain merchants are charged, I'd recommend reaching out to our Customer Support teams to see what options are available and make sure that card is set to the correct currency.

Good luck!

Thanks for your reply.  I do not make that many purchases in US dollars but it is only with Airbnb that I have the problem of currency conversions.  Airbnb swear it is not their problem and when I write to PayPal they miss the point of my concern.  I am making a US dollar purchase with a US dollar credit card.  I just can't get the folks in Customer Service to understand this.  I can't be the only person in Canada using a US dollar credit card with Airbnb so I was wondering if other like individuals are having the same issue.
