Money receiving fees

I have a question. I receive money from the same person five time between August 2021 and today.

The first two times I didn't have any fees and I take the money that he send.

The other three times paypal keep some money, not the same each time.

Do you know what this is about ?

If you receive a payment sent via the goods/ services option then of course you pay a fee.

If you receive a payment sent via the friends/family option then you don't pay a fee.

However its against paypal rules to use the friends/family option for selling goods or services and can lead to an account limitation so make sure you ask the sender to use the correct option.
