“Money is waiting for you”

So when I go onto my PayPal at the top it says that “money is waiting for you” and it has a certain amount. How do I know this isn’t fraud? If someone I know sent me money or it’s a refund from something then why doesn’t it tell me where it’s coming from?

You haven't added your country to your profile (so we can see when we hover over your username) or said in your post which country you are in so unfortunately we can't advise.
Paypal varies a great deal country to country so you need to tell us where you are on this worldwide community forum.

I have the same message.  I am in the USA.  When I click on it, and even before I click on it, nowhere does it indicate from where the money is.  Also, when I click on it, it asks where I want the money to go.  This is very odd to me, and it raises a red flag.

Its asking you where you want it to go ''if'' its your first payment in the U.S.

U.S accounts have the option to set up a balance account and hold the funds in your balance OR have it auto-withdrawn to a linked and confirmed bank account.
