Money Sent Pending

Hey there, So, I sent some money from United States to my friend in Indonesia on December 30th, 2021. Generally, it would take 1 week for the money to be released to my friend’s account. However it’s been more than a week since I sent the money. Is there a reason why I am not getting the money sooner? Thanks

I am sorry to hear you and your friend are experiencing issues with a payment hold. 

 

If the payment was sent using your bank account and it is processed as an eCheque, this can take up to 10 business days to clear and complete. eCheques differ from Instant Bank Transfers, as they are not instant payments. With eCheque payments, your bank account will be debited when you begin the transaction. However, the transaction status will remain pending until the recipient receives the money, up to 10 business days later.

 

If the payment is on hold for your friend due to a one-off hold, this happens when you send a payment as a Goods & Services payment rather than a Family & Friends payment. We may be requesting a tracking ID from them. If there is no tracking ID available, you may have the option to confirm receipt of the item service. I will include steps on how to do this below. 

 

Here's how to confirm that you have received an item:

  1. Log in to your PayPal account via PayPal.com
  2. Click Activity.
  3. Find and click the original payment for the item.
  4. Click Confirm Receipt.
  5. Click Yes to confirm that you received the order.

Note: This option will not appear using the PayPal App. 

 

Your friend should receive an email advising them of the hold and with steps on how to get access to the funds.
