Hi all. There was a recall of the fitbit Ionic and I was notified that there is a 299USD refund that has been sent to me. I never had a PayPal account , but gave them my email address. I was told to create a PayPal account using that email and then the funds would be available. I have done so, however my PayPal account is showing a nil balance . Is there anything I still need to do for the funds to reflect ? Thanks so much

Yes, that is how it has worked for me. I don't know why I was ever referred to Paypal. Maybe some people who made their purchase via Paypal will be refunded via Paypal, but I didn't pay that way. The company that the Fitbit email linked to, B4BPayments, wrongly referred me to Paypal the first time I contacted them. When I tried again later on, I spoke to a much more helpful person who provided the right information.

Exactly identical problem. I am amused how come pay pal folks didnt consider this obvious scenario. After new account creation, it doesnt ask for any pre-requisites like KYC/account identification. There is no grievance redressal process. Totally appalled by process.

Not sure who the Scammer is here, Fitbit or PayPal? I called Fitbit to see why after 4 months I still don't have the refund and they said it was PayPal that was the hold up. You call Pay Pay and they disagree.
I feel like I was **bleep** over. My Fitbit was working just fine and now I gave it away for nothing.
Never buying anything from Fitbit again. (Should have bought the Apple Watch, at least with Apple I know I'm over paying, but their stuff always works)

Hi,
Fitbit has choose other way out to refund for those who were facing problems with PayPal. Please check your mails you must have received email from Payoneer to get the Fitbit refund, else please get in touch with Fitbit support to have more clarity on this.

I requested a fitbit ionic refund via paypal on 9th May and have not yet received it. I phoned the helpline in July to ask why hadn't I received it. They said the refund had been approved but the payment run had failed in June. So I assumed that it would be processed soon in July but nothing happened ?
I phoned again and eventually their "sympathetic" call centre operator said "Oh you have requested a paypal refund. Is your paypal account set up to receive payments in US$ ?? So I checked and it it NOT ? Nobody from fitbit mentioned anything about my paypal settings. So I have now changed the WALLET settings but the next monthly payment run is not until the end of SEPTEMBER . So I am hoping that I will now receive the refund after 4 months.
If not I will think it is a scam or fitbit are running out of cash to do the refunds ??
