Guys, are SERanking.com allowed to practice dark patterns when people try to unsubscribe from their service? SERanking.com is Search Engine Optmization software but I've spent 40+ mins trying to unsubscribe.

First they say you can't unsubscribe from their website, you have to go to their payment gateway. I've tried accessing the payment gateway with every email I have. I can't login to cancel with any of them.

Then I come to PayPal, since I'm paying with PayPal. I've spent at least 20mins on PayPal trying to cancel the automatic/preapproved payment. Yes. I've searched the knowledge base and the Help feature.

PAYPAL PLS DO SOMETHING ABOUT THESE SHADY TACTICS. And while you're at it, fix your own UX, pls.

Here is how to cancel an automatic payment with a merchant:

  1. Click the Settings cog next to "Log out."
  2. Click the Payments tab, then click Manage automatic payments under "Automatic payments."
  3. Select the payment you'd like to cancel, then click Cancel. An automatic payment can be canceled up until the day before the next scheduled payment in order for you not to be charged.
