Can I cancel a payment authorization made to a vendor, I don't want their app anymore?

Can I revoke a payment authorization made to a vendor? Details: I downloaded a ride-sharing app and authorized the vendor (FreeRide / Transopco UK) to debit my PayPal account when I use their service. Turns out the app is useless, I never was able to use the service, and I will delete it. But can I or should I also cancel the authorization I gave them? Until I do, they could maliciously debit my account, no? Am I just being paranoid, or is this safe practice? Thanks.
