Unknown transaction.

I have always used PayPal with eBay for years and had no problems. After checking my bank statement I had 2 weird transactions (haven't used eBay for a few months) one i figured was eBay fees as it was from PayPal £46.55 which says its a monthly direct debit?! Which I need to find out why this has happened and how to cancel and receive a refund asap. Secondly was a transaction apparently via a credit card PayPal Pink Retro? I don't have a credit card and haven't used PayPal for any purchase and this was an amount of £42.78. I am a student and can't afford for random amounts of money to be taken from my account for no reason. Somebody please help! I tried calling but got put through to a very unhelpful automated system.

Click on the words "Contact" at the bottom of your paypal account summary page and use the phone option (if there is one in the country you are in) > click on the "call us" option on the left (fees "may" apply so check the cost with your phone tariff first, as you sometimes have to wait a while to connect).

When you get through don't select any options just hang on till you get transfered to an agent or say the word "agent".
