Going over my online banking I noticed that a quaterly payment for £18.94 had been set up without my knowing.
Once I contacted my bank they told me it had been going on since 2009 and they had also been taking out amounts ranging from a couple of pounds to over twenty for quite a while.
I would have missed it as I used ebay regularly, apart from the fact that I had been abroad without access to the internet and hadn't bought anything for some time, yet a transaction of £20 was taken from my account.
My bank has told me that I need to contact Paypal as they can only re-emburse me for the most recent transactions, but I'm not sure where to go or who to contact so I thought I best come here for any advice.
Please help!

Hi there,
It sounds like you have a subscription set up on the account without your knowledge. Using the information below you can cancel it.
Here’s how to cancel a subscription or recurring payment:
- Go to www.paypal.co.uk and log in to your account.
- Click ‘Profile’ near the top of the page.
- Select ‘My money'.
- In the ‘My pre-approved payments’ section, click ‘Update'.
- Select the merchant whose agreement you want to cancel and click ‘Cancel’.
- Click ‘Cancel Profile’ to confirm your request.
