Shipping UPS labels with PayPal doesn't work, says problems with UPS account.

"The contact information you submitted does not match the information on file for your UPS account. Either update your UPS account information by visiting www.ups.com or update the information below"

 

I have an eBay store; each time I try to print out a label to ship out a package to my customers, I end up at the PayPal website, which will allow me to print out a UPS shipping label for those customers that have chosen that shipping method.

However, every SINGLE time I have tried to print out a UPS shipping label, I get an error message saying that there is a PROBLEM with my UPS account. I have called UPS THREE TIMES and I have found that the UPS account is CURRENT, and that my address information at PayPal MATCHES the information in the "Maintain Your UPS Account" fields.

 

Despite what the error message in red says, the information for both UPS and PayPal MATCHES.

 

I cannot CONTINUE to have this problem, because there is an unnecessary delay to ship out the items my customers have rightfully won, and they EXPECT to get their eBay items in a reasonable amount of time.

Also, because I have to go to the UPS website to print out labels, I cannot qualify for the lower shipping rates that eBay had been offering.

 

I have had to pay the full UPS shipping price each time. (eBay says I ought to qualify for discounted shipping rates, but I do NOT get those rates, probably because of the failure of the PayPal-to-UPS interface!!!!)

I also have had problems with inaccurate labels - as I have had in the last few days - because the recipient never got his package because the label I had to fill out manually did not have the information that was on eBay.

If the PayPal-to-UPS interface had been working PROPERLY, I would not have had these problems.

I am having the same exact problem!!  I have tried re-typing my profile thinking maybe I am just not reading it correctly but they definitely match!!  Did you ever get this resolved?

I had the exact same problem tonight--something is broken here.  I've used PayPal shipping many times in the past.  However, this is the first time in a while that I've sold something on ebay and tried to ship something.

 

Also, the shipping fee from eBay was WAY off and and had to eat $7!  I think that the service from both eBay and PayPal **bleep**.  I'm going to try selling on craigslist or other websites.  I hate spending good money when all I receive is poor service.

 

No one from PayPal is reading these complaints, obviously.

I am having the same problem - have spent an hour trying to print a UPS label. Back and forth between UPS profile and PayPal profile - everything matches, yet I still get error messaqge: "contact information you submitted does not match the information on file for your ups account" This is two months after the original post, and I see no solution offered by PayPal.

I have the ANSWER! The reason it will not work is because you have not used your ups account for a year.  Go to the paypal "My Profile", then "my selling tools", then click on update for shipping preferences, (under shipping tools), click on "remove ups information".

Now you just have to sign up for a new ups account, once this account is good you can use it and get your proper discount.

I updated my account with UPS last month 8/8/11 and received an email from them THANKING ME FOR DOING SO... Then I shipped and printed a UPS label 3 days ago 9/26/11 and had to use the process you just instructed folks to use because it said, "info didn't match". Supposedly it now matched and that package was delivered today. So this evening 9/29/11 I go to print UPS label and it NOW SAYS, "UPS is having problems identifying your account details. Please contact UPS by visiting www.ups.com or call 1-800-PICK-UPS (1-800-742-5877) for assistance." I call & they tell me WRONG NUMBER. The number is 800-468-8823 I call & get a gal who tells me my account is INACTIVE due to INACTIVITY? I tell her I just shipped a pkg 3 days ago AND updated account details. She can't help me other than to re-activate my account for me...now she says, "I can use it in 3-4 business days".  I've had enough of this UPS run around... finding another shipper-
