Can a supporting document, such as a .PDF file be attached somehow to the "message" screen, or any other place, being sent along with the funds over to the recipient?
PayPal does not support the attachment of any file along with any payment. However, with Mass Pay, you do have the option of entering in a personal note (text only) to each buyer.

How do I find out which transactions are included in a mass pay file? I have a payee questioning why he got the amount he got, and I can't find the transaction.
The details of a Mass Payment whose status is "completed" can be downloaded into a tab-delimited file. Use the History Download feature to do this. You may also try view the details of the payment to see if that works as well.
