Bank insufficient funds

Hi all, i recently purchased an item off ebay and my bank however had insufficient funds, im wondering firstly why my backup funding credit card wasnt used because i later received the message:

"Your bank has declined the funds transfer because your account did not have sufficient funds available. We will automatically re-attempt this transfer in 3 business days. Please fund your bank account immediately to ensure this transaction can be completed."

Secondly, is there a way i can just pay it now, and how can i be sure my credit card wasnt charged then afterwards my bank account will be charged again. Thanks!

During checkout, be sure you have selected your backup funding method.

If it was selected - I am not sure why it did not attempt to pull funds from it, I'd ask a representative by calling support (PayPal>Contact us>By Phone)

Here is a few ways you can pay for your item:

One option is to add your credit card as a Payment Method.

Log into PayPal > Profile > Add or Edit Credit Card
During paying for the eBay Item, before clicking "Confirm Payment" be sure that credit card is selected as "PRIMARY Payment Method".

Second Option, Greendot Moneypak

Go to WalMart, Wallgreens or other supported store of "Greendot MoneyPak"

You will need to pay for a MoneyPak with cash, so you may need to do a ATM withdrawal or buy a candy bar and get cash back for that amount.
A MoneyPak is a flat fee a little less than $5 rather you load $25 or $100 - I believe $25 is the lowest you can load.
Be sure you get "MONEYPAK"  not a "Prepaid Card" This is one of the biggest mistakes people make.

After you buy the moneypak, log into paypal > add funds by money pack - Enter your moneypak #, the money will be added INSTANTLY and reflect in your account INSTANTLY.

You can then pay for it immediately with your PayPal account balance - Be sure before clicking "confirm payment" that your "Primary Payment Method" is set to "PayPal Balance"

I hope I was some help, and provided a solution. If not, let me know and I'll do my best to help you.
Good Luck & Glad to have you in the PayPal Community.
