PayPal Goods and Services vs Friends and Family:

As a BUYER, how can I tell after sending payment for an item if it was sent as Goods and Services or as Friends and Family? 

It is common for people to try and use FF to avoid fees, and I'm wondering if someone I do not know did this to me without my knowledge. Is there a way to confirm how I paid?

The family / friends option is only available when you as the buyer select it when you go to send money > family /friends.

If someone 'sends' you a money request or invoice then you are covered, they can't 'send' you a friends / family payment to pay.

That is UNLESS someone sends you their paypal.me link to pay, in that case the paypal.me link may be friends / family BUT before you pay make sure you click the box underneath that says 'goods / services' then you will be covered.
