How long does Paypal take to withdraw funds from your bank?

I sent £440 to someone for an ebay transaction. My paypal balance was £0 when I sent this but my paypal is linked to my debit card and bank so it should of come from there. The reciever has told me that they money has gone through to him but it is still showing in my bank that I have the same amount of money before I sent it.

Is there a delay in this process or has an error occured?

When you pay a seller it is never instant from your funding source.

Paypal CREDIT the seller for you so you get your item more promptly.

Then paypal take the wait for your funds to transfer from your bank account or card.

The funds ''leave'' your bank account at anytime from a few hours up to a few days after you have paid.

But your seller as far as he is concerned has been paid and is processing your order.
